Minister - Chris Michael
Chris Michael was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in northeast and
middle Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1988 with
a BA in English. He earned the Master of Divinity degree from The
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1991
and the Master of Theology degree in 1998 from Columbia Theological
Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Chris has served churches in Elberton,
Georgia; Narrows, Virginia and Cherrylog, Georgia before coming to
Valdosta in 2007.
Chris and his wife Laura were recently married and enjoy the chaos of
parenting his three daughters, Martha, Leah and Dylan and her two sons,
Addison and Evan.
Youth Minister - John-Alan Gourdine
A student at Valdosta State University, John-Alan has been singing in our
choir for several years.
As our Youth Minister, he is in charge of leading, planning and
implementing our youth activities.
He is involved with activities on Wednesday nights, working with Sunday
School on Sunday morning and leading outings, trips and mission
activities for the youth.

Christian Education Director — Dana Richards
Dana Richards was born in Valdosta, but lived in Homerville as a child.
She moved to Valdosta in 1983. Dana is our Children’s Director here at
FCC Valdosta. She has been involved in the children’s program since
1997. She holds an associates degree in Business Administration. Dana
married Frank Richards on March 23, 1996. They have 2 wonderful sons,
Noah and William.
Organist - Sue Ellen Rumstay

Sue Ellen Rumstay came to First Christian as our "substitute"
organist in 1992. Although her church membership is with Christ
Episcopal Church, she feels like First Christian is her home away
from home.
Sue Ellen's music credentials include a B.A. in music from
Centre College of Kentucky and graduate work at The Ohio State
University and Valdosta State University.
She also teachs music to students in Pre-K through Fifth Grade
at W.G. Nunn Elementary School.
She is married to Dr. Kenneth Rumstay, who teaches physics
and astronomy at Valdosta State University. They have two
daughters, Rosanne, a librarian at the University of Alabama
Science Library, and Rachel, a senior piano major at Valdosta
State University.
